Our wine estate and hotel is set on 180 hectares of farmland in the Cape winelands, and offers a naturally beautiful setting, a genuinely warm welcome and a destination that invites you to slow down, take in the view and enjoy the simple pleasures of food, drink and good company.

Everything we do is done with this in mind, from the way we welcome our guests and train our staff, to the way we source our food and make our award-winning wine.

Whether you’re looking for a lazy lunch, a wedding venue or a wine tasting, it will be our pleasure to share our little patch of paradise with you.

Our intimate 36-roomed hotel offers affordable 5-star comfort, top class service and a staff committed to making your stay memorable. With its relaxed atmosphere and careful attention to detail, the hotel manages to be both luxurious and homely. All of our rooms have balconies overlooking the courtyard, the vineyards or the lake – so wherever you are, you’ll be able to enjoy our view.

Our 4 room types include Courtyard, Classic, Deluxe and Suites. All are equipped with bath, shower and double basins – as well as the necessary little luxuries like fine linens, fluffy robes and slippers, and free Wi-Fi.

Our staff is happy to arrange tours, transport and anything else you might need during your stay. Hotel guests can enjoy their complimentary breakfast at our lakeside restaurant, Raphael’s, and are encouraged to while away the day enjoying the estate’s wines, views, and food.

Our Winery

Asara’s award-winning wines are the result of fresh thinking, a passionate winemaking team and an unwavering commitment to quality.

On the farm, viticulturist Alan Cockcroft uses sustainable and economic farming methods to improve the quality of the grapes, while in the cellar, winemaker Francois Joubert’s out-the-box approach and dedication to preserving the quality of the fruit keeps innovation at the core of the production process.

Asara’s wine ranges include the Classic Collection, Vineyard Collection and Speciality Range. While the Classic Collection offers a great value, cultivar-driven range of wines, the Vineyard Collection stays true to vineyard of origin with minimal cellar handling. The eclectic Speciality Range is a unique selection of blends that showcases the best of regional specialities - with an added twist. Using the highest quality fruit and some of the oldest vines on the farm, the range reflects both a history dating back to 1691 and the innovative, adventurous spirit of Asara’s winemaking today.
